From 1815 to about 1875, New Or¬leans was the chief used Furniture North producing center for much of the Mississippi Valley. So tall beds, sometimes with prie dieu kneeling brackets, large wardrobes and imposing bureaus with at¬tached mirrors are found in the mansions of such places as Natchez, Miss. Other examples can be seen as far north as Wisconsin.
