Modern Vineyard:

Modern Vineyard Importance Modern Times Clean Modern A vine is a climbing plant that uses tendrils to grip and reach the tops of tall trees. Ancient wine-growers let the vine grow naturally; the Romans planted elm-trees for its convenience. To this day such methods survive in parts of Italy and Portugal. A modern vineyard uses very different techniques.

Vines are propagated from seeds (only in breeding research), cuttings (for rootstocks or in regions where the grape can be safely grown on its own root), layers (usually to replace miss¬ing vines in a vineyard growing on its own roots), and grafting. Grapes are grown on their own roots (from cuttings) when phylloxera and nematodes are not present or when phylloxera— or nematode—resistant varieties are planted. In California, for example, more than two thirds of the vineyards are grown on their own roots be¬cause phyloxera is absent in most of the vineyard areas. In France and generally in Europe almost all vines are propagated (grafted) on resistant stocks.

The legislature has emerged as a distinct gov¬erning body only in modern times, in contrast to the executive and judiciary, whose form is rec¬ognizable in the most ancient states. Law in ancient and medieval times was regarded as pre-existent and either revealed to, or discoverable by, human reason. But the faster social, economic, and political changes of the modern era required instruments of control more Flexible than the tra¬ditional law of earlier times, and man came to recognize himself as capable of making law to suit his needs.

A fact of crucial importance modern times to the modern civil law—one that reinforced the systematic and speculative tendencies that arose in legal think¬ing in the universities—was the failure of con¬tinental European countries until modern times to develop a law common to the emerging polit¬ical and economic units. Germany and Italy did not achieve internal political unity until late in the 19th century. Even France, which had achieved political unity relatively early, was unable to develop a unified body of private law applied nationwide.

On The Other Hand See Clean Modern:

Modern Stockholm is largely the outgrowth of rapid expansion since the mid-19th century which saw the population rise from 100,000 in 1856 to 10 times that number within a century. Careful planning, however, has made Stockholm a model of modern town development and architectural design. A modern, immaculately clean and efficient subway system connects the main islands, which are also linked by several architecturally striking modern bridges. Open-air markets for flowers, fruits, and vegetables, a vast number of verdant parks, idyllic canals, and the presence of clear blue water almost everywhere lend additional glamour to an already colorful scene.

Clean modern lines and fresh colours mix with a few classic touches to give this kitchen a smart twist on contemporary style.
