Patio Furniture:

Patio FurnitureThere is a wide selection of patio furniture to choose from to suit your particular needs. A simple natural wooden seat will look informal, while an ornate wooden seat painted dark green or white will look much more formal. Wrought-iron furniture is one of the smartest types and, on the whole, it will create more of an impact since it does not blend into the garden surroundings in the way that wood does. More temporary patio furniture includes picnic-type plastic tables and chairs and, less durable, canvas deckchairs.

A datum peg, made from lin sq softwood with a pointed end, is used to set the top level of the patio. Drive in the "prime datum peg" so that its top is at the height required for the patio. This must be at least 6in below the level of a DPC to prevent rainwater splashing from the patio surface on to the house wall above the DPC.
