Hall Tree H-canada: The Canada Department of Forestry has published Native Trees of Canada (1961) with descriptions and photographs of nearly all the 150 native tree species in 48 genera and 24 fami¬lies. Several provinces have publications for tree or plant identification. The leaves are large, and the whitish flowers are borne on spikes, the fruit being similar in appearance and in medicinal qualities to that of the plant or shrub variety of pokeweed.
