Canada Maple Peas: Maple syrup and maple sugar are obtained from the sap of sugar maple and black maple found in northeastern and central northern United States 'and southeastern Canada maple peas. The trees are tapped in late winter and the sap col¬lected by spouts and buckets and boiled down to syrup.Maple syrup is made from the 'sweetwater' sap of North American maple trees. The syrup has been made in Canada maple peas and the US since the first colonial settlers learned the art from the Indians. Today the Canadian province of Quebec produces some 11.4 m. litres/3 m. gal yearly. See Also Maple -like:You may have a location that receives only morning Light or sun only in late afternoon. Flowering maples make up the genus Abutilon of the mallow family (Malvaceae). There are about 80 species.The Kauri (Agatliif iiiistralis) of New Zealand grows to a height of 55 m/180 ft, making it the world's tallest tree. Once extensive, they are now confined to the Waipoua forest. The Maple (genus Acer) comprises 115 species of tree in the northern temperate zone.
